Join the Beginners' Course 2024!
Dear Sailors,
After the disruption caused by COVID, finally in 2024 we will go back to the formula of the Beginners' Course of the previous years. You will be able to sail a full weekend with the skippers of the CNCE in the Grevelingen meer (Bruinisse), experiencing two different types of boats (dinghies and yachts). The participants will practice all roles of a crew member with a specific focus on the necessary knowledge for the safe handling of a sailing boat. The sailing activity will be complemented by a Saturday Night Sailing Party.
Sailing terminology, knots, “rules of the road” for ships at sea are elements that serve to develop the necessary to become a competent crew member. These will be the subjects of basic theory courses to be held in Brussels (evening sessions) before the practice.
The course is based on 3 modules:
basic theory courses (evening sessions in Brussels)
sailing on a cruiser yacht (1 day)
sailing on a dinghy (1 day)
The course is reserved to Members of the CNCE with a valid subscription. The participation fee (PAF) is €290 and will include:
welcome breakfast for Saturday
breakfast for Sunday
lunch box for Saturday and Sunday
barbecue for Saturday
accommodation in the bunkhouse located in the Bruinisse Marina
The following are not included in the participation fee:
extra drinks
the trip to and from Bruinisse
Please notify if you have any special dietary needs or other health problems.
Places are limited so please register as soon as possible and not later than Tuesday, 21 May 2024! Not a member yet? Read about membership...
This season we are happy to introduce two shore-based RYA courses provided in cooperation with the sailing school C-Masters:
The RYA Marine VHF Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC)
RYA First Aid course
These one-day classroom trainings will take place on selected weekends in Overijse, Belgium. The sailing school has provided a special discount for CNCE members.
Don’t wait too long to apply as the number of participants is limited and the applications are processed on first-come-first served basis.
Thanks to the success of previous years we are again offering both the 1-day "General harbour manoeuvres" and the 1-day "Mediterranean harbour manoeuvres" trainings in collaboration with the Belgian sailing school VVW Nieuwpoort.
