This year, from September 5 to 7, 2025, we’re celebrating bigger than ever with badminton, futsal, swimming, and volleyball competitions!

Volleyball tournament

Organization and Rules

The volleyball tournament is played according to the current international volleyball rules with a time limit. We will play in the following divisions:

All Gender: A/B+, B-, C+, C

There will be a group phase followed by finals in each relay. A minimum of 6 team members is required for admission to the tournament.

The maximum number of participating teams is limited, therefore the order in which registrations are received will determine participation. To promote fair representation and give everyone a change to join, 30% of the teams are reserved for teams having at least a FLINTA* participants until June 15. After that date, the remaining spots will be open from the waiting list.

A registration is only valid if at least 6 people have registered in the team within two weeks. Otherwise, your team will be placed on the waiting list.

Registration as an individual is also possible. And we will make every effort to place you in a team that aligns with your skill level and preferred role. However, please note that we cannot guarantee team placement for all individual registrants.

Discounted Registration Fees for FLINTA*

At BGS, we believe that sports are for everyone—without exception and without financial barriers. That’s why we offer a 15% discount on tournament registration fees for all FLINTA* participants. Because inclusivity also starts with accessibility!

Reserved Spots for FLINTA*

To ensure strong FLINTA* representation, we reserve a percentage of spots for this part of the community until June 15: 30% of teams and 30% of spots for individual sports. After this deadline, the remaining spots will be open to everyone, including those on the waiting list, based on priority order.

Inclusive Changing Rooms and Showers: A Priority

Respecting gender identity is a fundamental commitment for us. To ensure a welcoming and secure environment for FLINTA* individuals, we will implement gender-neutral changing rooms and showers whenever possible. When infrastructure does not allow this setup, reserved time slots will be provided to create a safer space. No one should have to give up participating in a sports event due to concerns about privacy or identity respect.

FLINTA* Pre-Party

Before the big closing party, we’re organizing something special: a 100% FLINTA* pre-party! A safe space where we can connect, relax, and get ready to enjoy an incredible weekend finale together. Because there’s nothing better than starting the celebration with our own moment!

Feedback and Continuous Improvement

After the event, we want to hear about YOUR experience! We will conduct a satisfaction survey to collect participant feedback. Our goal is to make each edition of the Brussels Games even more inclusive—and to do that, we need to listen to you. Together, we keep improving!

Outreach programme

The Outreach Program is a financial support offered by BGS upon request. It is designed to facilitate the participation of individuals who may struggle to join us. This includes people from countries where the LGBTQIA+ community faces discrimination, as well as those who may not have the financial means to cover the costs associated with participation. The goal of the program is to promote inclusivity, ensure equal access, and foster a diverse and welcoming environment within the BGS community.

Closing Party: The Unmissable Brussels Games Night

More than 1'000 people local and from all over Europe will gather to have fun and dance together at the closing party, in a unique venue in Brussels (the exact location will be announced soon!). Our team is working hard to create an absolutely exceptional, memorable, and surprise-filled evening for you.

Doors will open at 10 PM, and from 11 PM, you can enjoy the traditional BGS show featuring stunning drag performances and BGS entertainers.

After that, talented DJs will take over to light up the dance floor until 5 AM!

On the program: bubbly drinks, cocktails, soft drinks, and of course... delicious Belgian beers. This is THE party you don’t want to miss!

Hosting is a long-standing tradition of the Brussels Games, and we'd love to hear from you if you're interested in being hosted by a BGS member!

Whether you’re looking to save on costs (we’ll only ask for €30 for two nights) or eager to experience true Brussels local life and connect with our wonderful members, every reason is a good one to join the adventure.

For now, we're simply gauging interest. On May 31, we'll review the responses and decide whether to move forward with the hosting program.

The matching between hosts and guests is based on a series of criteria and preferences.

The organisers will do their best to match you according to these criteria and the hosts' availabilities, but we cannot guarantee that everyone will be accommodated.

In the next step of the registration, you can choose to:

Pay later based on an invoice (within 2 weeks)

The amount due is the same, regardless of whether you pay online or via invoice.

For online payments, BGS is charged €0.30 + 0.75% of the net amount (excluding VAT), with a maximum of €2.50 per transaction (excluding VAT).

To issue an invoice, Twizzit (our club management tool) temporarily stores your name and email address in its contact list. These details are deleted after the event.
